YOGYAKARTA, jendelainfo.co.id – Jogja International Kite Festival (JIKF) 2026 is not only an international kite festival but also a platform to showcase Yogyakarta’s rich culture and local heritage to the world.

As part of the Road to JIKF 2026 program, dozens of international delegates visited the Bakpia Pathok 25 production center in Ngampilan, Yogyakarta, on Tuesday (July 7, 2026). The cultural visit was organized by Komunitas Angkasa 1 and attended by participants from India, Vietnam, China, the United States, Germany, Malaysia, Brazil, Tunisia, Lebanon, Lithuania, Haiti, and several other countries.

During the visit, the delegates observed the traditional bakpia-making process, from dough preparation and filling to baking. They also sampled the iconic Yogyakarta delicacy while learning about its history and cultural significance as one of Indonesia’s Intangible Cultural Heritage products.

Amel, a representative of Bakpia Pathok 25, welcomed the collaboration, saying it supports efforts to introduce Yogyakarta’s cultural heritage to the international community while promoting local small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

“We hope this visit will help bakpia gain greater international recognition and become one of Yogyakarta’s cultural tourism icons,” she said.

Indian delegate Kamal Prakash expressed his admiration for the experience, noting that JIKF offers much more than a kite festival.

“This festival is not only about flying kites. It also gives us the opportunity to experience Yogyakarta’s culture, cuisine, and local way of life. It has been a truly memorable experience,” he said.

Through activities like these, JIKF 2026 aims to strengthen cultural diplomacy, support local SMEs, and reinforce Yogyakarta’s reputation as Indonesia’s cultural capital on the global stage.
